4 Week Summary

Writer: NoamNoam

It seemed that only yesterday we were getting to know each other in the first (induction) weekend, and without realizing it four fabulous weeks have gone by. We were very lucky to be assigned to Brazil's "Silicon Valley" in the lovely island city of Florianopolis, known as Floripa. I have never heard of the city before I was lucky enough to spend four weeks there, but I can now say that I am an ambassador of the city! Not only are the people friendly, welcoming and greet you with a smile, they are also innovative and creative as is evident in the multiple start-ups on the island.

The innovation vibe was especially strong in our partners' offices: Bridge Lab (Laboratorio Bridge). We were asked to assist the very talented development team with creating a business framework for their BI dashboard project. This dashboard is aimed at assisting the Brazilian Ministry of Health with identifying breakouts and epidemics, and proactively preventing their spreading. I was fortunate to work alongside two senior IBM-ers: Louise Gunsjo and Tomas Otano, a senior business consultant and senior IT architect respectively. We were able to help the team in identifying their end-user persona, the requirements of the first reports, the major risks and mitigation plan, the overall IT architecture and creating a road map for the development of the dashboard.

the plan and framework are now in the capable hands of Gabriel Geraldeli, Lucas Postal, Bruno Agostinho, Felipe Taboada, Fernando Burigo and Leandro Colombo.
